in Wangkanai Sub-district, Kanchanaburi Province, which was where Wangkanai Group’s sugar business started. |
History |
Wangkanai Group is now the nation’s leading sugar producer, supplying raw sugar, white sugar, refined sugar, natural sugar, caramelized sugar and brown sugar to the local and global markets, with a total production capacity of approximately 100,000 tons of sugar cane daily. |
Furthermore, all Wangkanai’s factories use bagasses to generate electricity and steam for use within the factories while excess electricity generated is sold to the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT), easing the government’s burden to supply electricity to the public. |
Not only is Wangkanai Group engaged in the sugar industry but also other businesses which are related to sugar both directly and indirectly. Its state-of-the-art technology and particular emphasis upon manufacturing research and development are among the factors that contribute to the excellent quality of its products and lead the brand towards wide acceptance among the consumers. |
At Wangkanai Group, paramount importance is placed on systematic cane planting As cane growers grow and supply cane to our factories on a regular basis, we adopt the Global Positioning System (GPS) and Geographic Information System (GIS) in our product development to achieve systematic and efficient production. |
In addition, Wangkanai Group serves a fundamental role in Thailand’s development of the sugar industry with its supply of high-quality raw sugar, white sugar, refined sugar, natural sugar, caramelized sugar, brown sugar, crystal rock sugar, calcium fortified sugar, and organic sugar using the trademarks “Green Ant” (มดเขียว) and Wangkanai.” As we are committed to an approach to sugar production that is closest to nature, with “Health Concern” concept in mind, we encourage cane growers to use organic fertilizers rather than chemical ones and focus upon high-standard production processes to make sure that the consumers stay healthy. |
